Fall Sports- Part II

The fall season is upon us (boy, that snuck up quickly!) and many families are getting back into the swing of school and sports!

This week: we’re highlighting are some more of our favorite upcoming opportunities at local institutions, check it out


Town Park Tennis

Husky Tennis Clinics are for athletes who have had some introduction to tennis and wish to develop their strokes and learn how to play and compete at higher levels. Beginner, Intermediate, and advanced levels offered.
Limit of 10 athletes per level.  PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO REMAIN AT VENUE DURING CLINIC.

When: September 11; 5-6:30pm (Check In: 4:45pm)
Who:  Ages 7-18 years (co-ed)

Bison Field Hockey Club

“Bison Field Hockey Club is open to all players ages 5 through high school. From beginners to experienced players, we help you learn and have an awesome time playing and training. Whether you are looking to play in college, the Olympics, or just like hitting around with friends, we have the program for you!”

(K-5th Grade) Fall Back to School Field Hockey Clinic/League
Mondays & Wednesdays; 9/11 through 11/1, 5-6pm

(6th-8th grade) Fall Back to School Field Hockey Clinic/League
Mondays & Wednesdays; 9/12 through 11/2, 6-7 pm


Baseball Clinics

⚾The Lewisburg YMCA offers a 94 ft by 50 ft turf field with two 70 foot indoor batting cages, two pitching mounds and a baseball pitching machine.

⚾Hitting & Pitching Clinics are available for ages 6-15; age groups and activitiy vary by date of clinic. Clinics begin mid-September.


Basketball Training Series

Players will be divided at baskets based on grade and skill level to maximize each athlete’s development. Participants will complete drills, activities, and fun games designed to develop the skills and concepts they have learned in a fun and exciting way.

Training Series are available for grades K-5th (Elementary); 6th-8th (Middle School); and 6th-12th (Pre-season). Clinics begin mid-September.


Youth Programs

LITTLE STARS (Ages 2-4)
Recreational and educational sports programming for little ones; focusing on learning, listening skills, following directions and most importantly fun! From the Classic introductory program that introduces different sports to our sport-specific baseball, football, basketball and soccer programs there is something for all children ages 2-4. 

BIG STARS (Ages 4-6)
Big Stars is a program designed as a fun sports experience for many different types of children; children ages 4-6 are invited to participate and focus on not only the sports that are being taught, but also on learning in a group environment with a hint of teamwork thrown in.


Homeschool Gym Class

Offers a variety of sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, dodgeball and many more.
Fall 2023 classes begin September 8 and run through October 27. 
Groups separated into ages 6-10 years or 11-18 years.


Central Columbia Aquatic Club (Bloomsburg)

Learn to Swim

When: October 2-12 (2 week program- Monday through Thursday evenings);
Session 1– 5:30-6:15pm; Session 2- 6:30-7:15pm
Who: Children who cannot swim or who are not yet comfortable in the deep end
Where: Central Columbia Middle School Pool
Cost: $80- due at first class (exact cash or check only)


Stroke Clinics- Four 1-Week Sessions

When:
Session 1– 5:30-6:30pm (less experienced/elementary school age)
Session 2: 6:45-8:00 (more experienced)
Freestyle Week: October 16-October 19
Backstroke Week: October 23-October 26
Breaststroke Week: October 30-November 3 (No session on 10/31)
Butterfly Week: November 6-9
Who: Children who are comfortable in the deep end/returning swim team members
Where: Central Columbia Middle School Pool
Cost: Each week: $20; Whole session: $80- due at first class (exact cash or check only)


USA Ninja Challenge (Sunbury)

There is an annual registration fee (starting in September) of $40. Once a week classes are $65/month; twice a week is $120/month.

Ninja Classes for Kids

Ninja fitness classes give kids an immersive experience into the sport of Ninja. Children are introduced to a variety of obstacles and an interactive learning program.

Separated into age groups: Sidekicks (ages 2-3); Junior Ninja (ages 4-5); 6-8 year olds; 9-12 year olds. Also offering Homeschool/Cyberschool classes.

Teen Fitness Classes/ “Warrior” Program

For kids ages 13+

The teen warrior training classes consist of warm-ups and slightly more intensive ninja exercises, including a range of obstacles that changes from class to class. Teens will focus on the fundamentals of swinging, climbing, jumping, traversing, balance, tumbling and floor skills, as well as participate in creative conditioning sessions.

Offering clinics, tournaments, and team or one-on-one lessons with experienced coaches for baseball, basketball, and soccer!
