“Anyone who lives, works, or goes to school in Columbia County, or who is a member of the N4Cs community center in Benton, may use the free public library services offered by the Columbia County Traveling Library. We primary serve the 24 Columbia County municipalities which do not have access to a traditional public library.

Bookmobile

The Bookmobile is our main library. It makes community stops throughout the county on a biweekly schedule. We stop in the Benton, Millville, Mifflinville, and Catawissa areas at least once per week. See the bookmobile schedule to find a stop near you.

We stop in Central, Benton, Millville, Jerseytown, North Centre Township, South Centre Township, Lime Ridge, Mifflinville, Catawissa, Franklin Township, and Numidia. We also do special stops at daycares, pre-schools, K-12 schools, and senior centers throughout the county.

County Library

The walk-in library at 702 Sawmill Rd. Ste 101, Bloomsburg, PA 17815 serves as a base library for the bookmobile and a county library. It is open five days per week – see library hours. There are 25,000+ books, audiobooks, and DVDs here in addition to the 5000+ items on the bookmobile. Browse and check out books from our large collection. Return items you checked out on the bookmobile. Use the public computer. Book donations for our book sales are accepted year-round (book donations suspended until July 1).  Use the lower parking lot in the back of the building to get to the library entrance. N4Cs Library

The Northern Columbia Community and Cultural Center (N4Cs) is partnering with the Traveling Library to offer a community library in Benton.  There are 2500+ books from the Traveling Library collection available for loan during Center hours to anyone who lives or works in Columbia County or who has an N4Cs membership. Library patrons can also return any Traveling Library book to the center, and can request to pick up reserved items there. Library volunteers are  typically available for special assistance Mondays 12-6pm, Tuesdays 3-6pm, and Thursdays 3-6pm.”

Catawissa Branch

The Catawissa Area Branch Library is a southern regional branch library with about 7500 books, audiobooks, and DVDs to browse and borrow. There is a children’s area for storytimes, family visits, and play dates. You can browse and check out books here and return any Traveling Library or Orangeville Public Library books here. If you set this branch as your default pickup location, we can leave your items for pickup anytime the library is open. Book donations are welcome here, with a limit of two boxes at a time. See the Schedule & Hours page for operating hours. See map and get driving directions.
