June is here and the calendar is absolutely packed! From berry picking and fishing derbies to summer reading kickoffs and carnivals, there is so much to do with your kids this month — and a lot of it is free or close to it. Berry Picking Season
One of our favorite June traditions in the valley — pull up to a big open field, let the kids run the rows, and bring home whatever you pick to make popsicles, pie, or just eat straight from the container. It’s one of those afternoons that can be low cost and turns into a great memory. Our guide explains which berries are ready to pick and when. Most farms have a call line to check availability the morning of— so always check ahead!

Libraries around the valley go all out for their FREE summer reading kickoffs this month — think touch-a-trucks, Reptileland visits, Dino Days, and more.
