There’s nothing healthier or more invigorating than exercising with your family! Our area is hosting a number of runs of different distances to support a variety of causes in the near future, and we’ve rounded them up for you!


PAGES TO PAVEMENT LIBRARY COLOR RUN

Date: August 8
Time: 9:00am
Location: 900 West Main Street, Bloomsburg

Lace up your sneakers—Pages to Pavement is hitting the ground running (and walking!) in a burst of color, all in support of your local libraries!

This untimed, all-ages color run features a 5K and a 1-mile option, making it perfect for families, bookworms, fitness fans, and fun-lovers alike. Along the route, participants will be showered with clouds of bright, eco-friendly color powder—transforming the included white t-shirt into a masterpiece of motion. We want to thank the Bloomsburg Fair Association for their generous use of the space

Registration includes a commemorative t-shirt and a great excuse to get gloriously messy for a good cause.

Run, walk, read—however you roll, let’s take it from Pages to Pavement!


MILTON HARVEST FESTIVAL 5K WALK/RUN

Local Programing Highlight: Rise Up Racing (Williamsport)

Rise Up Racing is a triathlon and running team, coaching business, and race production company based in North Central Pennsylvania. They offer personalized coaching for both local and remote athletes, foster a vibrant community of like-minded racers, and direct grassroots triathlon and running events that grow the sport in our region.


DANDELION RUN- 5K/10K TRAIL RUN

Date: September 5
Time: 9:00am
Location: Camp Mt. Luther
355 Mt Luther Lane, Mifflinburg

The Dandelion Trail Run is a 5 and 10-kilometer entry-level race benefiting Camp Mount Luther. Runners decide on race day if they want to do a 5K or 10K (a double loop of the 5K). All miles are marked, and there’s one water stop on the course. Timing is done electronically. The run was named in memory of the Rev. Glenn Heasley, whose favorite “flower” was the dandelion.

Kids Fun Run! The age groups are 6 and under and 7 – 10. Special awards will be presented to every participant in the fun run.


NORRY BLOCK PARTY 5K

Date: September 6
Time: 9:30am
Location: King Street Park
159 King Street, Northumberland

The annual Norry Block Party 5K is back! The Race will kick off a day of food, drinks, a corn hole tournament and live music. Every participant over the age of 21 will receive 1 post race beer from Pineknotter Brewing Company (ID must be shown to receive beer).

Awards to the top 3 overall male and female winners in both the 5k and kids run (12 & under). 


Local Programing Highlight: Healthy Kids Running Series (Bloomsburg)

Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.


Local Programing Highlight: Nittany Track & Field

The Nittany Track & Field (NTF), a 501(c) (03) non-profit athletic club for boys and girls ages 7-18, was organized in the State College, PA, by John Schmidt in Spring 2005. The Club is currently affiliated with the Mid-Atlantic USATF and presents a unique training program for the local youth. The Club’s main objective is to foster a positive, fun, and supportive atmosphere for training and athletic growth. The Club coaches offer instruction that is suited to all levels of ability and experience, making NTF probably the best place to try track events before joining highly competitive school programs.  In addition to competitive goals, promoting an active lifestyle and social involvement in sports among young people stands as Club’s main priority.

NTF has a Lewisburg branch!


SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY CASA SUPERHERO 5K

Susquehanna Valley CASA —Voices for Children (SVCVC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and every dollar raised is focused on recruiting, training, and supporting our CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Volunteers and Case Managers—-dedicated and passionate community members who advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system, to aid in ensuring each child thrives in a safe, nurturing, and permanent home.

There are many abused and neglected children in our service area (Lycoming, Northumberland, Snyder, and Union Counties) who desperately need a CASA Volunteer to advocate in their best interest. Fortunately, the numbers are trending in the right direction, but there are still plenty of kids in need.

With your help, we can reach these abused and neglected children.  Be a superhero…show your support!

HUNGER COALITION 5K

Date: September 26

Location: The Miller Center for Recreation & Wellness

As an initiative of the Union-Snyder Community Action Agency (CAA), the Hunger Coalition brings together community members and representatives from organizations ranging from social service agencies to food pantries to local schools – all motivated by developing a community-wide, coordinated approach to address food insecurity in our community. 

Since its inception in 2020, the Union-Snyder Hunger Coalition has garnered a membership network of more than 100 representatives and grown to be a well-established voice on food insecurity issues. As a network, we coordinate meetings with key stakeholder groups, including food access programs and local producers, we communicate information about food resources, and we organize educational events. 

Proceeds raised through this 5K will support the Hunger Coalition’s work year-round to address food insecurity by supporting our area’s food access programs and hosting awareness-building events. Support our work by registering or donating today!
